History
Austin was born the youngest of four siblings and typically got what he wanted as a child. Being the baby of the family had its advantages and Austin quickly realized that he had a way with his parents. He had them wrapped around his finger and, as beneficial as this was for a young boy, it came with its share of grief. The number one disadvantage of being the youngest was being placed in the shadows of his older siblings. They saw glory in lives of their own, but Austin was given footsteps to follow. His oldest brother graduated medical school and became a great physician in Atlanta. His sisters opened a salon near home and the business grew quickly over the span of three years. Then there was Austin, who was given jobs at both fields. He was the receptionist at the hospital for a while, but he didn't take to desk work well and crazy hospital hours drove him crazy. In need of money to pay off upcoming college tuition, he even worked at his sisters' salon sweeping floors and scheduling appointments. That did not suit him either because, well, he was not much for health and beauty. However, he needed the paycheck to get through college, so he continued.
He had dreams of pursuing a career in radio and, while his parents thought that was a careless decision, they still attempted to support him. He continued work by doing odd jobs so that he could support himself through college, doing just about anything and everything to get by. And he did anything and everything, including pursuing an affair with a female professor to earn a passing grade in one of his final classes. It was the most dishonest thing, and probably one of the only dishonest things, he had ever done during his college education. He was not proud of it and felt very ashamed of himself. He became a new person, darkening in personality and isolating himself from the world. While he earned his degree, his pursuit of a job in radio was slow. While he did manage to snag an internship with a local radio station in Atlanta, the guilt of what he had done to achieve a degree ate away at his pride. Ashamed of himself, Austin took to alcohol to drown his problems. With the light of his life quickly dwindling, he allowed a bottle of jack to console him. One night, it would nearly take his life.
Austin hid his problem with alcohol very well and not many knew of his internal struggle. However, those closest to him became aware by his sudden tardiness at appointments and gatherings. He was not himself, even more distant than before, and his breath held an alcoholic aroma that became unfortunately familiar to his presence. In the fall of 2014, he got into a car accident after getting behind the wheel intoxicated. Thankfully no one was put in danger that night, the accident taking place on an empty street, but he did throw his car into a tree. It was completely ruined and inoperable, and nearly Austin too. Breaking bones and ego, Austin's recovery would take nearly a year. This included a family intervention and a long stay in an alocholic rehibilitation program. As painful as it was to air his dirty laundry to his family, it would be something that would save his life and make him a better man.
Still, Austin gave him many bad memories and he wanted a fresh start. So, after much preparation, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to pursue his long-lived dream of a broadcaster. He snagged a job at a local morning show for a local station in 2015. Since then, he has gained a tremendous following and has been able to live solely on his paycheck as a broadcaster.
