victor lawrence
history
Victor was born in the city of London and had a unique bond with his city. He enjoyed everything about it as a child and had no intention of leaving it behind. There was an entire world to explore, but he liked England just fine. It was big enough for him to explore later and he was comfortable sitting in his busy city of London for the younger years of his life.

His father worked as an art dealer with a company that was known for it successful history in serving residents of London. After decades of success and growth, the company decided to expand its business overseas and sent Victor's father to America. Victor was only a young boy when he moved to New Orleans and he originally hated everything about the situation. Being torn from his friends and the familiar scenery, Victor did not welcome change easily and wanted to go back "home". It took a few years but eventually he considered New Orleans as his home and moved on.

What made this new life easier to accept was meeting his first love, Amelia. Falling madly in love, the teenager's life took a direction he would never expect when Amelia became with child. Approaching fatherhood before marriage was a shock to his family, and the couple did marry shortly after news of the pregnancy surfaced, although the decision was forced by their parents. They had a child together, a son who they named Anton. He was a family man, just like his father, and having the titles of father and husband were precious to him. The original joy that came with the initial family setting were short-lived when during the first year as a family Amelia's life was lost in a car accident.

The world introduced marriage to him, as well as fatherhood, but quickly stripped one of those titles away from him. It was a shock to his system and took a lot of support from family and friends for him to function after Amelia's passing. He continued his work as an art dealer, but worked fewer hours so that he could be with his son. Losing his wife was difficult and, despite having spent so much more time with his son, he found so much of Amelia in Anton's features. How he laughed, the way his eyes widened in excitement, it all reminded him of Amelia. Although he loved the boy more than life itself, there were days where it was a struggle to wear a brave face.

Things got easier after he met the love of his life, a lovely young woman by the name of Annabeth. It was difficult for him to love again in the beginning, but there was an intense attraction to her inside and out, one that he could not ignore. She did not seem to mind the idea of him being a single father and eventually the two married. She even loved Anton as her own, which brought warmth to his heart. They also had a son of their own, little Jade.

Time passed and his heart healed more and more by the day. His relationship with Anton unfortunately struggled, something he would forever regret. His relationship with Jade was better, but he still had some trouble demonstrating emotion to his children. Positive emotion, laughter and jokes, these were no problem at all. However sadness and tragedy, losing and grieving, these were things he talked little about. He became distant, consumed himself in his work and never addressed such topics. Always a mystery to those who knew him but it would be something he would struggle to change.

Things changed for the better between Victor and his children. He became closer to them and more involved in their lives. Things were shaping up for his family and his work. Everything fell into place nicely but fate dealt him another bad hand when his wife passed in the summer of 2014. This being the second spouse lost, Victor fell into a deep depression. He kept his sons dear to his heart and close to him in this period, but his work suffered. He held a bitter taste in his mouth whenever he mentioned his home in New Orleans, or even just having to live there. Such bad memories were better left behind so he eventually moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.

His youngest son stayed in New Orleans, dealing with problems of his own, but Victor was happy to at least have his eldest son close by. It did his heart well to rely on Anton in this dark period of his life. It took a matter of months before Victor could venture out of the house on his own. He found work again in the art industry and even made a few friends within the business. Being in new company helped him writ ea new chapter in his life, and he became even more light-hearted when Jade finally moved to Wilmington. His sons were both within reach, although he worried for his youngest son who started pursuing a wild lifestyle. However, both of his sons were there and he seemed closer to them than ever before. While it was difficult putting a new foot forward, he was comforted to know that his family would help him along way.
